🕊️ Fallen Illinois Hero Tribute

Honoring Veterans Lost to Suicide After Their Service

Some battles continue long after the war ends.

This tribute page is dedicated to the brave men and women who served our country—many during Operation Enduring Freedom—and later lost their lives to suicide. While their fight may not have ended on the battlefield, their sacrifice is no less worthy of remembrance.

We invite families, friends, and comrades to share the names and stories of these heroes. Whether you choose to provide a full biography or a simple name, each tribute helps us honor their memory, reduce stigma, and remind others they are not alone.

Your submission may be included in a memorial display, slideshow, or remembrance event held by American Legion Post 491. All entries are treated with the utmost dignity and care.

If at any time you wish to update or remove your submission, we will do so immediately—no questions asked.
