Tim served

Sean served as a Machinist's Mate in the US Navy aboard the ammunition ship USS Mount Baker (AE-34) from 1989 to 1993. He was deployed to two Med cruises and served in the Persian Gulf during operation Desert Storm / Desert Shield, earning him the Southwest Asia Defense Medal with bronze cluster. He also earned the National Defense Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Battle 'E' Efficiency Ribbon. 

Sean has been a member of the American Legion since 2021 and was elected as Post Adjutant in 2024. 

Sean's family has a long tradition of military service and American Legion membership going back to his WWI grandfather. His father Bill served in the US Navy during Vietnam and now his son, Liam is currently active duty in the US Navy. All the Greaneys are Legionnaires.
